Examples of Delivery and Pickup Time Slots

Time slots are only displayed with the In-store pickup and Local Delivery  extensions. You will find below several examples of settings to be adapted according to your opening and preparation time requirements.

1. Fast Food (In-Store Pickup Only)



It's an In-store pickup only Salad Bar that prepares meals every day of the week, at lunchtime only.

Time Slots set up in the backend :  
  1. Opening hours: from 11am to 2pm every day of the week, except weekends
  2. Time slots:
- One slot every 15mn with a maximum of 10 orders per slot
- A delay of 15mn between the order and the next slot available (order prep time)
- Display restricted to same-day only
- Display of all time slots available 

The time slots visible to your clients will then be slot of 15mn from 11am until the last slot 1:45pm - 2pm
Case studies :
  1. If your client places their order at 11:20 am, with the prep time of 15 minutes, they will be presented with the following slots, i.e. from 11:45 am.
  2. If you've received more than 10 orders during the 11:45 a.m. slot, they will be presented with the following slots, i.e. from 12:00 noon.
  3. With a preparation time of 15 minutes the last order can be placed at 1:30pm max and the last available slot will be 1:45pm - 2:00pm.
  4. If a client tries to place an order in the afternoon, the order will be blocked in the shopping cart. Same on weekends, the orders are closed since you've chosen a restricted same day display. Orders will be possible again as soon as a slot is available on an opening day.


2. Restaurant (In-store pickup and Local Delivery)



This restaurant offers in-store pickup but also local delivery with a delivery service  (local delivery extension).
Open for lunch and dinner, closed on Sundays.

Time Slots set up in the backend :  
  1. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, from 11 am until 3pm, and from 7pm until 9:30pm
  2. Time slots:
- A slot every 30mn with a maximum of 5 orders per slot
- A delay of 30mn between the order and the next available slots (order prep time)
- Display restricted to same-day and following day
- Display of all available slots

The time slots visible to your clients will then be slots of 30mn from 11am until the last lunch slot of 2:30pm - 3pm and then from 7pm until the last dinner slot of 9pm - 9:30pm.
Case studies:
  1. If your client places their order at 11:15 am, with the 30 min delay, they will be offered the following slots, i.e. starting at 12:00 noon.
  2. If your client places an order at 4:00 pm then the available slots will be starting at 12:00 noon.
  3. If your client places an order at 4:00 pm they will be offered the 7:00 pm slot and the following ones.
  4. The last available slot will be at 2:30 pm for the lunch and 9:00 pm for dinner, with a prep time of 30 minutes. The last order can therefore be placed until 2:00 pm for the lunch and 8:30 pm for dinner
  5. If your client places an order at 11pm,  the first available slot will be the next day, i.e. 11am and the following ones.


3. Grocery (In-store Pickup and Local Delivery)



This is the neighborhood convenience store that does in-store pickup but also local delivery (Local Delivery extension).
Order prep time 2h or 120 mn.

Time Slots set up in the backend :  
  1. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, from 8am until 8pm
  2. Time slots : 
- One slot every 60mn with a maximum of 30 orders per slot.
- A delay of 120mn between the order and the next available slot (order prep time)
- Display restricted to same-day and the 6 following days
- Display of all time slots available 

The time slots visible to your clients will then be slots of 1 hour every day of the week from 8am until the last slot 7pm- 8pm, except on Sunday.
Case studies: 
  1. If a client wants a delivery during the day, there are 2 hours of preparation, so they can choose a delivery a little later in the day.
  2. The last available time slot is from 7pm to 8pm, with a preptime of 120 minutes, so the last order can be placed until 5pm max.
  3. Your client will also be able to place an order on Tuesday evening for delivery from Wednesday to Saturday. 



4. Straight from the Farm (In-Store Pickup Only)



This is a farmer who makes Organic baskets to be collected 3 days a week at the end of the afternoon.
He does not take any more order one hour prior.

Time Slots set up in the backend :  
  1. Opening hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm
  2. Time slots:
- One slot of 120 mn with a maximum of 40 orders per slot
- A delay of 60 mn between the order and the next available slot
- Display restricted to same-day and the following 6 days
- Display next available slot only

The time slots visible to your clients will then be a slot of 2 hours, Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays only from 5pm to 7pm.
Case studies:
 
  1. If your client orders on Monday at 9:00 am they will be able to pick up their basket the same evening from 5:00 pm.
  2. If they order on Monday at 5:00 pm, they will be offered to pick up their basket only on the next available time slot, i.e. Wednesday between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
  3. With a prep time of 60 minutes, the last order can be placed until 4pm on opening days to be picked up the same day.
